Squeezing Success

Stories from Citrus America Customers

From the very beginning, Reveille Café, founded in 2012 by Nicole McCann and her husband Jay, has prioritized offering fresh, high-quality menu items, including fresh squeezed orange juice, to its patrons. It was a decision that has set the unique locally owned and operated chain of daytime restaurants in the Atlanta metro area apart from many other establishments.

"We've always wanted to go with fresh squeezed orange juice," McCann explains. She was disappointed to find that bringing pasteurized orange juice into her restaurant locations would drastically diminish the flavor profile, which immediately led her to Citrus America and their Citrocasa machines, which have become a staple in their cafes for many years.

Working with Citrus America has been a seamless experience for Reveille Cafe. "They're amazing," Nicole enthuses. "If something goes wrong with the machines, they troubleshoot with us, and if we need replacement parts, they’re here within two days. Their support is exceptional."

The introduction of fresh orange juice has remained a hit with customers. "People love our orange juice," she shares. "They can taste the difference immediately. It's like night and day compared to other juices." This attention to detail and commitment to quality has earned Reveille Cafe a loyal following of regulars who appreciate the chain’s fresh offerings and the personal touch that comes with a family-run business.

And her dedication to freshness goes beyond orange juice as Reveille Cafe sources local produce from within the state and its coffee, which she says is the best, from Alabama. "We try to do everything in house," says Nicole. "When I worked for bigger chains, they had a commissary where everything was made and shipped in. We don't do that. All the prep is made in-house by our wonderful prep team."

Reveille Cafe's focus on daytime dining was also a deliberate choice by Nicole and her husband, both seasoned restaurant professionals. "We were working nights and had no time for our children," she recalls. "The idea behind opening a daytime restaurant was to be able to spend evenings with our family."

This family-first approach extends to their operations, with Nicole and her family actively involved in the daily running of the cafes. Even their location in The Villages, Florida, is managed by Nicole's sister-in-law ,keeping the business firmly within the family.

This local, hands-on approach is a significant draw for their customers. "Our guests love that we're locally owned and operated," says Nicole. "We still work in all of our locations, which you can't say about many other chains. Our customers appreciate seeing us in the stores, interacting with them, and ensuring everything runs smoothly."

Due to the overwhelming success of their fresh squeezed orange juice, Reveille Cafe is now exploring the potential to expand their fresh juice offerings. Nicole and her team are considering introducing other types of fresh juice, such as grapefruit, to their menu. This expansion reflects their ongoing commitment to providing the best quality products and meeting their customers' growing demand for fresh, flavorful options.

In a world where many restaurants rely on convenience and pre packaged solutions, Reveille Cafe's dedication to fresh items, such as freshly squeezed orange juice, as well as in-house preparation and local sourcing, sets them apart, offering their customers a dining experience  hat is both fresh and personal.

Brian Framson

After 20+ years of blue-chip experience in banking, manufacturing, and the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry, Brian discovered that it was easier to get an amazing fresh glass of fresh orange juice in Vienna, Austria than when he was visiting his parents in Florida. This didn’t make sense, so Brian set out to change that and founded Citrus America, Inc. in 2010. He traded in his corporate hat for an entrepreneurial one and has been bringing new levels of quality, innovation, and service to the trade ever since. His mission has been to bring professional blue-chip service and to an underserved segment of the grocery and foodservice industries.
